“Once there was a frog named Froggy and a Snake named Snakey and they lived in a forest near a pond.”
When I was a little girl, those words meant my dad was about to tell an awesome bedtime story about my favorite little forest critters. Froggy and Snakey were his invention, and they quickly became cherished characters for my sister and me. We would play make-believe games about them while we explored outside. We even had a little green-striped scarf-thing that we pretended was Snakey (I still have it, as it happens).
Sadly, I don’t remember a single story line from the many tales my dad told us. No special details. But I do remember that opening line: “Once there was a frog named Froggy and a snake named Snakey and they lived in a forest near a pond.” It was the same every time. Consistent, reliable. And the stories were always fun and full of joy. Traits intrinsic to my dad.
He passed away unexpectedly eight years ago after an accident at his home. The heartache over this loss will never disappear, but neither will the memories of our time together.
For years I’ve wanted to create a book in honor of my dad, a way of memorializing these bedtime stories so full of love and fun, and now it’s nearly finished! While I couldn’t remember any details of his stories from when I was so young, my sister remembered that they often featured pincher bugs. So that’s what this book is about.
More updates to come!

This is just the first of many frog puns, let me assure you.
Many of you know I have been working on a children’s book for the last year or so. I am just wrapping up illustrations, and it’s time to start sharing this project with you! My last big task is the cover design, then I’ll be getting it all formatted and on its way to print. This book means a lot to me, for reasons I will soon share, and I’m so excited to see it coming to completion. Please stay tuned for more, and I hope you’ll enjoy this first adventure of my dear little friends, Froggy and Snakey.

Hello, dear readers!
Things have been pretty quiet around here, so I’m having a great, big eBook giveaway to kick off the summer! ALL my eBooks are free on Kindle (and the free Kindle App for your phone, tablet, etc.) now through June 7th. That’s four books! Find them right here!
This includes my beloved first fantasy novel, a stand-alone called Between the Light and Dark. Think elves, dark elves, mortal enemies and unexpected allies, maybe even a sweet love story sprinkled in ~ It also includes all three books of my Weaver’s Stone Trilogy: Weaver’s Stone, Galreyva’s Heir, and Chrysolin Heart (available free for the first—and perhaps only??—time). This series has forbidden magic, rising stakes, romantic tension (with no spice, as always; you’re welcome), and divine intervention—for better or worse.
In other news, I am nearly finished with my current project: my first children’s book! More details on that to follow soon. Aaand I may have casually just started my next fantasy novel. So. Stay tuned for that too 🙂
Happy reading to you! For previews of my books, pronunciation guides, and other such things, you can always check out my book page.

8 years ago, I published my first book! In honor of its anniversary, you can download the Kindle edition of Between the Light and Dark for free, now through November 26th.
A big thank you to all who have read and enjoyed it over the years! ![]()

“Nils must escape from Dreygard Manor or he’ll end up either dead or married, and he isn’t sure which is worse.”

)

Hello, dear readers! I have some exciting news: today I finished the sixth—and final—draft of Chrysolin Heart! Feels like such a milestone to finish my first trilogy! When I started book 3, I thought it might be the shortest of the series, but it surprised me and ended up the longest, weighing in a little under 122,000 words. Next comes formatting, cover design, and proofreading. I love it to pieces and can’t wait for you all to read it! Looking forward to a spring release 🌸
