Final Draft Complete!

Hello, dear readers! I have some exciting news: today I finished the sixth—and final—draft of Chrysolin Heart! Feels like such a milestone to finish my first trilogy! When I started book 3, I thought it might be the shortest of the series, but it surprised me and ended up the longest, weighing in a little under 122,000 words. Next comes formatting, cover design, and proofreading. I love it to pieces and can’t wait for you all to read it! Looking forward to a spring release 🌸

Second Draft Complete!

Hello, dear readers! Just a little writing update for you. I have recently finished draft 2 of Weaver’s Stone book 3 (or Chrysolin Heart, as we know it!), and I couldn’t be more excited about it! Working on this draft included reading through the book in its entirety for the first time, and I am SO thrilled with how it turned out, I’m just dying to share it with all of you!

I’m going to be honest here. Writing draft 1 was…difficult. It felt like a fight the entire time, which was a first for me. Sure, every book has had its challenging passages, but this time almost the whole book felt like an immovable brick wall that I had to chip away at bit by bit. But, all that to say, editing it has so far been a pleasure and gone very smoothly, even the parts that needed some rewriting and rethinking. Definitely thanking my past self for all that hard work the first time around! I feel like, while being the most challenging book I’ve written, it has come out the best for it. It also cranks up the level of epicness big time from previous installments, so get ready for an adventure!

I don’t have a concrete estimate yet for when the book will be finished. I plan to start draft 3 next week, then have my husband/alpha reader give it a spin and hear his take on it. It’s possible it will be ready sometime during the winter, or and if not I’m hoping for spring. I will keep you posted!

Also—I mentioned this briefly on Instagram a while back—I have written informal recaps for books 1 and 2, since, let’s be honest, it has taken me rather a long time to get book 3 to you (thank you for your patience!). I plan to make them available closer to the release of Chrysolin Heart. They will, of course, be teeming with spoilers, but I hope they will serve as a helpful reminder of the events of Weaver’s Stone and Galreyva’s Heir for those who have already enjoyed them. If you haven’t yet had the opportunity to read these books, now is the perfect time! I’m currently running a free Kindle sale for book 1, so you can download the Weaver’s Stone eBook for free now through November 13th, right here! Both books are of course also available in paperback. Happy reading to you!

For those awaiting book 3, thank you once again for your patience! I am so grateful for the opportunity to share my stories with you, and I trust you won’t be disappointed!

First Draft Complete!

At long last, I have finished the first draft of Weaver’s Stone Book 3! This seems like the perfect time for a title announcement, so here it is: Chrysolin Heart. This is the third and final book in the series, and while it was a challenge to write, I’m very pleased with how it all came together. I can’t wait to share it with you! Now, the editing begins ✏

A Long Overdue Writing Update

🍂 Weaver’s Stone Book 3 is well underway! I confess I took a lengthy break from writing after finishing Galreyva’s Heir, both to alleviate burnout and to put a small dent in my substantial pile of to-read books. (Among the books read was Rhythm of War, which of course is a big one! And a good one.) My son started school this year, so this fall was a great time to pick up writing again. Of course taking a few months off made it quite a slog at first (writing is a lot like using a muscle in that when it isn’t exercised regularly, it doesn’t work very well), but after a few chapters things began moving along. I’m somewhere around chapter 10 now, and having a blast! As with my previous books, I know some scenes will come easily while others will be hard-won, but whatever the case, I’m enjoying the process. I can’t wait until it’s ready to share with you all! This will be the last book in the Weaver’s Stone series, so prepare for an exciting time 🙂
