Shannen L. Colton writes from Western New York, where she lives with her family and cats. With a lifelong interest in art and storytelling, she has written several YA fantasy novels, and now her first fully-illustrated children’s book. She has a love for critters, big and small, and a fondness for the simple things in life.
And now she will stop talking about herself in the third person. Thanks so much for stopping by and for whatever level of interest you have in my books! I am so excited that you’re here.
So, what are my books like? A friend described them as “tales that are exciting and clean without losing the grit (and romance) of adventure.” I have never been so flattered in my life. That is exactly the kind of book I love to read, and I am so happy to be writing them as well. I believe deeply in the power of fiction to covey life’s greatest truths, as well as to lift us up in dark times. I sincerely hope you will find my books uplifting and encouraging, as well as a whole lot of fun to read.
In the YA fantasy department, I currently have one stand-alone novel (Between the Light and Dark) and a trilogy (Weaver’s Stone), with another novel in the works. For children’s books, I recently published my beloved Froggy and Snakey and the Pincher Bug Buffet, which I hope to continue into a series. There are always plenty of stories buzzing around in my head, so stay tuned for what comes next!
